In a recent CNBC interview, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon defended MAGA voters, acknowledging Donald Trump’s success on key issues like the economy, immigration, and China.
Dimon emphasized, “People are voting for Trump because he was right about the economy and China.”
He pointed out that tax reform and deregulation helped grow the economy, leading to a 7.7% increase in real weekly wages under Trump, while wages have fallen by 3.9% under Biden. Trump’s China tariffs and immigration controls were also factors that resonated with voters.
Dimon argued that many MAGA voters feel scapegoated by Democrats, who dismiss them as “deplorables.”
He called for greater respect, saying, “It’s hard to hate 75 million Americans.” He added that Democrats’ disdain for these voters fuels political division. “We need to stop scapegoating these voters and listen more,” Dimon said, underscoring the disconnection between elite policymakers and ordinary citizens.
The economic frustration is palpable, as Biden’s policies—including the open borders and massive government spending—have led to job losses, wage stagnation, and inflation, disproportionately affecting the middle class.
“The reality is, under Trump, economic growth surged,” Dimon said.
Trump’s stance on China, especially on trade, brought manufacturing jobs back, while Biden’s policies have not delivered the same results.
“People should be a little more respectful of MAGA voters—they know what they’re doing.” Dimon’s comments reflect growing frustration with Biden’s economic management and emphasize the demand for policies that prioritize working-class Americans.
