The Democrats are in full-blown panic as key party figures abandon ship.
Gloria Romero, former California State Senate Majority Leader, just announced her departure from the Democrat Party and her switch to Republican.
Romero said she could no longer tolerate the party’s extreme positions on hot-button issues. Speaking on The Angle, she described how Kamala Harris’s policies on education, immigration, and crime have driven many lifelong Democrats away.
Romero explained, “In her hometown of Oakland, 75% of African-American and Latino children aren’t reading or doing math at basic levels of proficiency.” She emphasized how Harris’s alliance with teachers’ unions blocked critical reforms that could have helped these families. “I have championed school choice… but Harris did nothing.”
What’s more, Romero criticized the open-border policies that have fueled crime in California, stating, “There’s a massive crime problem, a lot of it due to unmitigated migration.”
She argued that the party has strayed from working-class values, favoring elites and big donors instead. The rigged primaries and the dismissal of 14 million votes were the last straw for her.
Romero warned that she isn’t the only one feeling disillusioned. “There are so many more like me… We do not recognize this so-called party of democracy any longer.” She concluded by welcoming Donald Trump to California, saying the state is ready for real change.
The question is: Will more Democrats follow her lead and leave the party for good?
